The AP 107/740 optics are a powerful astrograph. The triplet lens with a 107 mm aperture provides high-contrast and colour-pure images. The built-in single-lens flattener (field flattening lens) ensures excellent field correction. Overall, the Apo offers a four-lens optical system optimised for astrophotography.
The rotatable and geared focuser has a large adjustment range, so you can find the focus without any problems.
The working distance (back focus) is long enough to allow the use of a 2" diagonal mirror. This turns the Flatfield Apo into a large-field telescope or even a planetary telescope, depending on the eyepiece used.
